OTN Tour

Gracias, obgrigado … Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Brasilia and Sao Paolo

This was a long trip – but as usual, traveling to South America is wonderful. So it time to say gracias, obgrigado … Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Brasilia and Sao Paolo. I’m so happy that I’ve been invited to speak at the OTN Groundbreakers LAD South Leg Tour 2019. Believe me, it is really hard to fly back after such intense 10 days.

Gracias, obrigado!

Gracias, obgrigado ... Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Brasilia and Sao Paolo

At first, a big big thank you to all the people who organize these events. For us it is quite easy. I board an airplane, and 17 hours later I step into a room on the …

Time flies – and the OTN Tour South America 2017: Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil is over for me. I’m back home.

OTN Tour South America 2017: Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil

But Id like to thank many people. It was an awesome tour again. I participated for the forth time. And I learned a lot again. From customers who discussed their upgrades and migrations with me. From the other presenters who did a terrific job.

OTN Tour Latin America 2017 - See you all soon (again)Oracle OTN Tour Latin America 2017 – Database Upgrade Team will be there.

I did not participate in last year’s LAD OTN Tour through Latin and South America. And to be honest: I really missed it. So this year is a new chance. I will head out in less than a week and start my journey in Uruguay, then Argentina and finally Brazil.

Unfortunately there was no possibility to include more stops even though I would have loved to see other places and customers as well. The good news: Hector and Byron from the

OTN Tour Latin America 2016 is ready to take off

And for me it’s the first time in 4 years that I won’t be able to participate. Which is very sad as it is such a great thing to meet all these wonderful people, not only from the User Groups doing all the orga stuff but also discussing with customers, learning from skilled and knowledgeable co-presenters, the entire travel, the wonderful cities … I miss this already. Maybe next year …

Nevertheless, the Database Upgrade team will present – and thanks to the tour organizers for accepting the talks of …

Recap – OTN Tour EMEA – Baku, Azerbaijan – 2016

Working on a Saturday is not common for me but happens from time to time mostly when I travel abroad or when a customer has a critical upgrade or migration on a weekend.

Having 120 skilled and enthusiastic people in a conference day on a Saturday is VERY UNCOMMON. And having them stay from 9am to 6pm is a sign that the selection of topics fit the interest of the audience – and the presenters got their attention the entire day.

Please find the slides and the Hands-On-Lab here:

Beijing, Seoul – and OTN Tour Tokyo – just in one week

Uhhh … next week will be a tough traveling experience. 19870 km (12347 mi), all in cattle class on 4 different airlines.

I tried to avoid Lufthansa as they canceled recently flights I heavily relied on – with no reason! And there’s still a huge risk of announcing just their 9th strike within a year and a bit.

But I’m really looking forward to the workshops, to see all the colleagues, customers and of course some great friends. Roy and I will do two internal two-day workshops in Beijing and Seoul with each more than 50 participants – and …

Nordics OTN ACE Tour 2013 – Recap

The Nordics OTN ACE Tour 2013 with stops in Stockholm, Ballerup/Copenhagen and Oslo is over. A very intense week with plenty of excellent presentations from Lonneke Dikmans, Sten Vesterli, Tim Hall and others. I’m always impressed how much those people know and how good they present. It’s such a great learning experience. And there’s always some time to talk about weired things apart from the Oracle cosmos. So thanks a lot, folks – it was a pleasure to travel with you.

And many many thanks also to the people from ORCAN, DOUG and OUGN. …

Again, thanks a lot to everybody who did attend to our Lab at the OTN Tour 2013 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and/or to Roy’s talk about Data Pump in Oracle Database 12c and my presentation about News in Database Upgrades to Oracle Database 12c on August 7. It was our pleasure to meet and work together with you. And thanks to the local folks of ArOUG organizing such a great event and taking care on us.

OTN Tour South America: Uruguay, Argentina & Brazil

I really don’t look forward to a 20 hour trip in coach from Munich to Montevideo, Uruguay.
