Many of you have read my blog post from October during Oracle AI World in Las Vegas about Oracle AI Database 26ai replacing Oracle Database 23ai. Queries on dictionary tables are slow in Oracle Multitenant?

I love to learn something new every day. And on Friday afternoon last week I learned something new again. It started (as often) with a very simple question from a colleague working from the Oracle Malaga office in Spain. The customer has an issues with some queries being slower than before once they moved from on-prem to the cloud into a PDB. But are queries on dictionary tables are slow in Oracle Multitenant generally?

Plan your upgrade(s)

You can plan your EBS and database upgrades now. I know from discussions at conferences and workshops, that customers felt locked in on older databases releases. As a result, we waived the Extended Support for the database for those who still are on Oracle 11.2.0.4 and 12.1.0.2 as database for an EBS installation.

Please be aware that the certification as of now includes only Linux and SPARC Solaris platforms. …

I did blog about the Oracle 18c installation a few weeks ago but this was a plain 18.1.0. This time I install the 18.3.0 on-prem edition for Linux.
