November 19-21, 2019
November 19-21, 2019
Time flies so quickly. And in case you wondered about the silence on the blog and on twitter, I was either traveling the past weeks or on holidays. But it’s November. And November is DOAG conference month. So please find an overview about DOAG Conference 2019 – Our talks in Nürnberg next week.
Actually DOAG (German Oracle User Group) conference is one of the most important events for me every year. Not only because since far over a decade in my hometown, Nürnberg, Franconia, but for me it means meeting with a lot of …Continue reading...
Well, how do I realize it is November already? When I receive my conference pass for DOAG conference. And actually when the first snow falls right on time when I plan to hit the road. Lovely! If you are coming to DOAG Conference 2018 in Nuernberg – Upgrade and AutoUpgrade talk is the one you should see.
You can’t find “AutoUpgrade” in the official description? Yeah, true. I added this after the Oracle Open World presentation to get you a sense about where upgrade is going to. And beyond … 🙂
The upcoming weeks will involve a lot of travel 😉
I’m looking forward to present at SANGAM Conference in Bangalore, India on Nov 11 and 12 for the first time.
I will have two sessions at SANGAM:
There are so many interesting talks in the agenda (please click here) – the organizers have done a fantastic job.
Then I’m heading straight back to present at the German Oracle User Group Conference (DOAG) for the … let me think … 14th (?) time. So no time for jet lag. And glad that it will be a home match again …Continue reading...
Guess how I realize that it’s just 4 weeks and a bit towards Christmas?
Really looking forward to is as it is THE SPOT to meet with many German customers, some of them good friends, many many familiar faces, the DOAG leaders who all do a fantastic job – and I’ll have the chance to see a lot of great presentations and learn a lot from experts, …Continue reading...
Mike may be too humble to post this himself, so I will point out that the Oracle user group in Germany (DOAG) has published a video of an interview with Mike about upgrade to Oracle Database 12c. The interview is in German, so if you speak the language, please enjoy:Continue reading...
This year’s 2013 conference was the best DOAG Conference I have attended so far (and it was my 11th conference). Actually due to the fact that I’ve had just one presentation (Working with Oracle Multitenant in the Real World – thanks to everybody coming by in the huge TOKIO room – that was really fun!) and a DOAG TV interview I’ve had enough time to see some other presentations. I did actually enjoy the Oak Table Stream in room SHANGHAI a lot – so many good stuff, I have really learned a lot.
So thanks to the organizers from …Continue reading...
I’ll try almost all food wherever I am in the world (except for Scorpios-on-a-Stick, Sheep Penis and such stuff). But I didn’t try this in our hotel in Rio:
No offense – but Nuremberg (or in German: Nürnberg) is my hometown – and Nürnberger Bratwürste look a little bit different. If you’d ever visit Germany and you’ll have to chance to see Nürnberg you might order “Drei im Weggla” (three [sausages] in a bread bun) and every Franconian will understand you 😉
But still Roy and me had some fun at the breakfast buffett 😉…Continue reading...
Thanks to everybody who did attend at my DOAG Conference session in Nürnberg this year “Seven Flavor of Database Upgrades” (or in German: “7 Wege zum Datenbank-Upgrade – Geschichten, die das Leben schrieb”). And thanks for your patience staying with me in overtime as well 😉
In case you’d like to download the slides I’ve presented at the session please download them via this link or from the download section to your right.…Continue reading...
And – as always – it was great to meet all the Oracle users again. For me that’s the best opportunity to get in touch with customers I know for a looooong long time, Oracle colleagues from Germany – and even some US colleagues such as Hermann Baer, Markus Michalewicz and Tom Kyte presented as well. Sometimes you feel like being at a big family event 😉
And thanks to those you stayed for …Continue reading...
