IOUG Collaborate 2018 in Las Vegas – Upgrade Talk and Lab Roy will give a Hands-On Lab about upgrading to Oracle Database 12.2 on Sunday – and an…

DOAG 2017 Conference – Upgrade Talks and More

It’s November. November is DOAG time. Time really flies. And the German Oracle User Group Conference till kick off in a bit more than a week from now on. For me it’s like visiting a huge event where I know so many people: it’s almost like a friends& family meetup. Only strange thing: we all get older … 😉 I’m really looking forward to DOAG 2017 Conference from Nov 21-24, 2017. And if you are not a German native speaker, don’t worry at all. Many talks get simultaneously translated into English. The translators are amazingly good. It’s worth to visit….

UKOUG TECH 16 is coming – and I’m speaking

Uhhh … time flies. I look into my calendar – and UKOUG TECH 16 Conference is almost there. Just a few days to go (and hopefully no Lufthansa strike on the upcoming weekend – but I looked already for alternatives). Anyhow, I’m excited and look forward to my 2nd TECH conference. Last year was the first time for me and I enjoyed it a lot. Very good audience, good location – even though I can’t say much about the city of Birmingham as I haven’t seen anything except for the venue, my hotel and an Indian restaurant. Well, business travel…

I will have two sessions at SANGAM: There are so many interesting talks in the agenda (please click here) – the organizers have done a fantastic job. Then I’m heading straight back to present at the German Oracle User Group Conference (DOAG) for the … let me think … 14th (?) time. So no time for jet lag. And glad that it will be a home match again for me…

UKOUG Tech 2015 – Summary & Slides

My first UKOUG Conference is over. Actually it was over yesterday already for me as I had to head back to Germany. I would have loved to stay a bit longer and pick more of the many excellent presentations. I visited a few – and all of them were great. It was a tough choice as there were too many interesting things going on at the same time. Only finding the right room was sometimes a bit of a challenge 😉 And I would like to have met more and talked to more people. But time was very limited. I…

DOAG Conference 2015 – My Talks

Guess how I realize that it’s just 4 weeks and a bit towards Christmas? When DOAG (German Oracle User Group) Conference is happening in my hometown Nürnberg in mid November every year. And this year’s DOAG may be my 14th DOAG Conference as far as I remember. Really looking forward to is as it is THE SPOT to meet with many German customers, some of them good friends, many many familiar faces, the DOAG leaders who all do a fantastic job – and I’ll have the chance to see a lot of great presentations and learn a lot from experts,…

DOAG Conference – Recap

This year’s 2013 conference was the best DOAG Conference I have attended so far (and it was my 11th conference).  Actually due to the fact that I’ve had just one presentation (Working with Oracle Multitenant in the Real World – thanks to everybody coming by in the huge TOKIO room – that was really fun!) and a DOAG TV interview I’ve had enough time to see some other presentations. I did actually enjoy the Oak Table Stream in room SHANGHAI a lot – so many good stuff, I have really learned a lot. So thanks to the organizers from the…

DOAG Conference 2011: Seven Flavors of Database Upgrades

Thanks to everybody who did attend at my DOAG Conference session in Nürnberg this year “Seven Flavor of Database Upgrades” (or in German: “7 Wege zum Datenbank-Upgrade – Geschichten, die das Leben schrieb”). And thanks for your patience staying with me in overtime as well 😉 In case you’d like to download the slides I’ve presented at the session please download them via this link or from the download section to your right.

DOAG – German Oracle User Group Conference

This time I had only one presentation at the DOAG Conference in Nürnberg (actually that’s my hometown so it’s always great for me to be there). And – as always – it was great to meet all the Oracle users again. For me that’s the best opportunity to get in touch with customers I know for a looooong long time, Oracle colleagues from Germany – and even some US colleagues such as Hermann Baer, Markus Michalewicz and Tom Kyte presented as well. Sometimes you feel like being at a big family event 😉 And thanks to those you stayed for…
