We are thrilled to announce that as of June 7, 2021 we have a new member in our Product Management team: Rodrigo Jorge joins our group as Product Manager for Database Cloud Migrations, Upgrade and Patching. Many of you may know Rodrigo already. He “was” an Oracle ACE Director until June 6, presented at many conferences and user group events – and he has an excellent technical blog. We are really excited to welcome Rodrigo at Oracle.
This was a long trip – but as usual, traveling to South America is wonderful. So it time to say gracias, obgrigado … Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Brasilia and Sao Paolo. I’m so happy that I’ve been invited to speak at the OTN Groundbreakers LAD South Leg Tour 2019. Believe me, it is really hard to fly back after such intense 10 days.
At first, a big big thank you to all the people who organize these events. For us it is quite easy. I board an airplane, and 17 hours later I step into a room on the …Continue reading...

Time flies – and the OTN Tour South America 2017: Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil is over for me. I’m back home.
OTN Tour South America 2017: Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil
But Id like to thank many people. It was an awesome tour again. I participated for the forth time. And I learned a lot again. From customers who discussed their upgrades and migrations with me. From the other presenters who did a terrific job.
A very big Thank You to all the people who organized the events. I liked it a lot. And you deserve a lot of credits for …Continue reading...
Oracle OTN Tour Latin America 2017 – Database Upgrade Team will be there.
I did not participate in last year’s LAD OTN Tour through Latin and South America. And to be honest: I really missed it. So this year is a new chance. I will head out in less than a week and start my journey in Uruguay, then Argentina and finally Brazil.
Unfortunately there was no possibility to include more stops even though I would have loved to see other places and customers as well. The good news: Hector and Byron from the …Continue reading...
I really don’t look forward to a 20 hour trip in coach from Munich to Montevideo, Uruguay. But I’m looking forward to meet and see many tech folks in Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Sao Paolo during the next week. Roy and I will deliver a Hands-On-Lab in Montevideo on Monday and in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. Plus presentations on Tuesday, Thursday and finally Saturday in Sao Paolo. Well, and our colleagues in Brazil have taken the chance to schedule 3 customer visits in Rio and Sao Paolo on Friday in between 🙂 After this week I will need a …Continue reading...
Thanks a lot to everybody who did visit our workshops in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in the past days. And actually our “Thank You” or Obrigado! can’t express how Roy and me felt in the past days. I believe I’ve never felt so welcome – you all, customers, partners and Oracle folks were simply great. Thanks a lot for that. We’ve had a great time – and we hope you had some fun as well and enjoyed the hands-on lab as well.
Let us know if anything with your upgrades does not run as desired – or if …Continue reading...
