Some of you have read this already. And others may not be happy about the news. You can read it in MOS Note PNEWS1360: Oracle AI Database 26ai isn’t planned for SPARC Solaris and Linux ARM. Other platforms such as IBM AIX, zLinux and MS Windows are expected to be released in calendar year 2027 (CY2027) according to an update to the note.

PNEWS1360 got updated
You need to scroll down to the “Oracle Database Release Schedule“. Then look at the sub-table “On-premises server releases” in (PNEWS1360) Release Schedule of Current Database Releases (formerly known as 742060.1).
There you will see that the release of Oracle AI Database 26ai is not planned for SPARC Solaris and Linux ARM.

Oracle Release Schedule as of Sept 24, 2026
As usual, I am just pointing to this information since several people sent emails already.
In addition, please note the update to Oracle Database 19c labeled as the Terminal Release on these platforms (see the screenshot above).
Other platforms?
When you scroll down a bit further, you will find Oracle AI Database 26ai being scheduled to be released on IBM AIX, zLinux and Microsoft Windows in calendar year 2027. Please check with

What a shame – support for Linux on Arm would have made far more sense to me than yet another Windows release. For the remaining Windows customers, Oracle could simply have kept 19c alive as a legacy platform instead of spending development and testing resources on supporting 26ai on Windows.
I’ll certainly be glad when we migrate our remaining Windows databases from 19c to 26ai on Linux next year and can finally leave Windows database servers behind. Arm, on the other hand, would have been a genuinely interesting, energy-efficient, and future-proof alternative to x86. Such a missed opportunity!
Well … what should I say – I was hoping as well since I have a Mac with an M-CPU.
But the good thing for your move is that you should be even able to have a refreshable clone for a almost-seamless move from win to Linux.
Cheers,
Mike
I have a Mac M5… this has made me sad… but I will get over it.
I have an M3 only … but I can feel the disappointment.
Cheers,
Mike
Heißt das also, dass ich MacOS nicht mehr nutzen kann? Auch nicht mit Virtuel Box oder anderen Virtualisierungen. Also ein MacBook?
