AI World this year in Las Vegas is going to happen in about 4.5 weeks from now on. In case you’ll be there on Sunday (which makes perfect sense this year), you may want to consider signing up at AI World 2026: Pre-Event Masterclass: Upgrade, Migration and Patching. Yes, we are doing it again. A full day of specially curated content – with very little overlap with out talks and labs. You are having a full day from 9-5 with the guys who breath upgrades, migrations and patching everyday.

Why should you consider it?
First of all, it is extra cost. The Sunday Masterclass is not included in the conference pass. But the true benefit is that we have a full day together, and we have enough time to discuss your topics in detail before the busy conference starts. It is a smaller group of people – max 40 seats can be taken. But hurry, more than half of them are already sold.
We make this YOUR day with a specially curated selection of topics. There are laptops in the room allowing you to do some hands-on exercises. Certainly, you can bring your own laptop, too. It will be an event we have never run before in the US – and as usual, our promise stays:
Zero marketing – just tech!
What are we going to do a whole day?
This is the title and the abstract of the session:
Upgrade, Migration, and Patching to Oracle AI Database 26ai: Masterclass [OUT1040]Join Mike Dietrich, Daniel Overby Hansen, Rodrigo Jorge, and Alex Zaballa for a workshop featuring real-world customer cases and practical examples of upgrade, migration, and consolidation techniques and strategies. Explore the power and possibilities of Oracle AI Database 26ai. Learn how to prepare for Oracle AI Database 26ai and leverage the latest enhancements in AutoUpgrade. Discover how to take patching to the next level, ease operations in the multitenant architecture, get Data Pump on steroids, simplify migration to Oracle ADB for beginners and experts, and explore the coolest and best new features for DBAs in Oracle AI Database 26ai.<
It will be a fun day – but we will require your full concentration and attention. Food and drinks will be served as well of course.
How do you sign up?
This is the official session catalog entry for your reference. And this is the registration page where you can add the training. You need to scroll down to the button of the page to find our session.
We are looking forward to see you on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 9am in Las Vegas at the Venitian Conference Center area for our Oracle University Pre-Event Masterclass Upgrade, Migration and Patching to Oracle AI Database 26ai.

Hi Mike,
I’ve been testing Select AI (DBMS_CLOUD_AI) and the new AI Agent framework on an on-premises Oracle AI Database 26ai instance (23.26.1.0.0). I suspect you already know the on-prem path is a very different animal from Autonomous Database, where this reportedly works out of the box.
The short version: every call to SELECT AI AGENT (and the lower-level DBMS_CLOUD_AI.GENERATE) fails with:
ORA-20401: Authorization failed for URI – bearer://api.openai.com/v1/chat/completions
I’ve ruled out the obvious causes one at a time — API key validity (curl-confirmed), credential syntax, network ACLs on both the application schema and C##CLOUD$SERVICE, TLS wallet trust, the SSL_WALLET database property, wallet ACLs, and a TDE keystore I found had never been configured. Fixing each of those was worthwhile in its own right, but none of them touched this error. I reproduced it identically across three providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, and Groq — and at both the DBMS_CLOUD_AI and raw DBMS_CLOUD.SEND_REQUEST levels.
Full write-up, checklist, and command log here:
https://github.com/monowar-mukul/oracle-ai-database-26ai-vector-lab
(Select AI Agent section — the two ORA-20401 documents under docs/.)
Two questions:
Has anyone on your side reproduced or tested Select AI Agent on-premises (not Autonomous)?
Is there a known fix, or should I raise this as an SR? Happy to open one and reference this write-up if that’s the fastest path.
If this turns out to be a genuine gap (or a documented one I’ve missed), I’d like to push the write-up to the Oracle community portal — with credit to your team for anything they add.
Thanks,
Monowar
Hi Monowar,
thanks for your input – but unfortunately, this isn’t the topic I take care about.
Please log an SR with Oracle Support – or try to get in touch with one of the PMs (Product Managers) who blogged on the official Oracle blog platform about Select AI.
Thanks,
Mike
