Pre-Event Training: Multitenant Upgrade 23ai
You can book yourself a full-day pre-conference training on Monday, September 9. We’ll host a small group of customers, and we prepared a special workshop just for this day. None of the labs we are going to do with you will be part of the regular conference. All four Product Managers from our team being at OCW24 will give this training: Daniel Overby Hansen, Rodrigo Jorge, Alex Zaballa and myself.

- Migrating the Beast—Transportable Tablespaces to the Extreme
- The conference is not over yet – and we kept the be(a)st for the last day. This was the most challenging migration our team ever did. And we called the database THE BEAST. 180TB generating 15TB redo in average per day, the most complex datatypes, more than 5000 datafiles, Advance Queuing, Resource Manager, over 100 Scheduler jobs – and 5 physical standby databases. Sounds like fun? Yes, it does – especially when you need to migrate this Beast in less than 12 hours from an Oracle SPARC SuperCluster into an Oracle Exadata environment across Endianness. Daniel and myself will be your hosts in this talk. Relax, lean back – and let us show you how you can push Transportable Tablespaces to the absolute extreme.

This year, both of our Hands-On Labs will be two hours long which gives you and ourselves more time for discussions and explanations, and takes out some time pressure from the labs. Don’t forget to bring your laptops – there is only a limited number of conference laptops available in each of the rooms.

- Last year, we’ve had to disappoint you a bit – but we fully renovated the entire lab, and it is much more than just upgrading to Oracle Database 23ai. We included lots of Multitenant exercises, Performance Stability, and much much more. The entire PM team will be there with you to guide and assist you on your journey to Oracle Database 23ai. This will be perfect launch into this years OCW24 for you.

- Next-Level Platform Migration with Cross-Platform Transportable Tablespaces
- Try out a cross-Endianness migration with the brand-new M5 migrations scripts. These scripts will semi-automate your large migrations, and you can migrate even encrypted databases cross Endianness, you can use section sizes and much much more. We’ll include before and after checks, and for two hours the entire PM team will guide and assist you making this migration a true success.
