What are we going to talk about?
The development team invested a lot of resources to implement some of the most wanted features in AutoUpgrade. Spoiler: One feature is still missing but will be released very soon. In this Thursday’s Virtual Classroom Seminar we will talk about:
- PDB and non-CDB refreshable clones
- Complete TDE Support end-to-end with the new AutoUpgrade keystore
- Use AutoUpgrade with the REST API
- Faster Multitenant upgrades with Proactive Fixups
- Faster RAC database upgrades with Distributed Upgrades
- Standby, standby, standby – and more standby on Multitenant topics with AutoUpgrade
- Usability features
I’m really excited already about the content we will cover in these two hours on Thursday.
We have so many cool new features to cover – and of course, demo to you.
Registration
Please register here. Click on the SELECT button – and if you don’t have it displayed, please use a browser where you have no extensions such as UOrigin. BRAVE may cause some displaying issues as well.
Thursday, May 5, 2022 – 14:00h CET – 13:00h BST – 17:30h IST – 8:00h EDT
Seminar length will be – as usual – about two hours with a 5 min break in between. And of course, Daniel, Rodrigo, Roy and myself will be around all the time to answer your questions.
Slides and Video
As usual, the slides will be up on our blogs for download at the time the seminar starts. And the video recording will be available usually the Monday after the event. But don’t miss the change to attend live 🙂
We are looking forward to welcome you to Virtual Classroom Seminar #14: AutoUpgrade 2.0 on May 5, 2022

Hi Mike,
thanks for this great tutorial.
However, I’m still struggeling with the “upg1.target_pdb_copy_option=file_name_convert” option when using OMF Files.
Based on ASM, everything is fine.
I set: upg1.target_pdb_copy_option=file_name_convert=(‘+DATA1’, ‘+DATA1′)
Job is done.
However, when I run on no ASM I don’t now to handle this. 🙁
In 11 I’ve got *.db_create_file_dest=’/data1/db_files/data’
Now, I want to copy the files to a 19 Database
db_create_file_dest:=’data2/db_files/data’
Setting target_pdb_copy_option=file_name_convert=(‘/data1’, ‘/data2’) does not work:
ORA-1276 signalled during: create pluggable database “R1201” as clone using ‘/home/oracle/auto2/R11/100/noncdbtopdb/R1201.xml’ COPY file_name_convert=(‘/data1’, ‘/data2’) tempfile reuse…
Does target_pdb_copy for OMF only works with ASM?
In one of your blogs you noted “ASM/OMF” in conjunction.
Regards
Christian
Hi Christian,
did you read this:
https://mikedietrichde.com/2020/07/21/more-information-on-autoupgrades-target_pdb_copy_operation/
Mike
Hi Mike,
I did, but I had some trouble understanding this.
However, yesterday I found out:
On non ASM System and OMF it’s very simple!
Just set upg1.target_pdb_copy_option=file_name_convert=NONE and the files
are copied to db_create_file_dest,
Thanks for the help
Chhristian
Thanks for your feedback, Christian!
Cheers
Mike
