Today a friend asked me whether I know where to download Oracle 10g. Not a typo where I mixed 9 and 0 on my keyboard. So what if … How to get access to download older Oracle versions?

What’s on oracle.com and eDelivery
In the Software Delivery Cloud (formerly known as eDelivery) you will find the following base releases of the Oracle database:
And the other source for downloads is oracle.com. But there you currently will be able to download Oracle Database 19c and Oracle Database 21c.
But there is no sight of Oracle Database 10g anywhere.
Patch Bundles are on MyOracle Support
As next step you could try to find Oracle 10g on MyOracle Support (MOS). At it looks more promising:
Then I need to click on Latest Patchsets in the upper right box. And this will open another window.
Now hoover over Oracle Database and then carefully to the port you are interested in, e.g. Linux x86.
This will open another menu showing you the available patch bundles, for instance 10.2.0.5.
But you may recognize as well that 10.2.0.1, the base release is missing. This is correct since the base release is typically not on MOS but only the patches and patch bundles.
So how do you get the base release now?
Request access to the base release
Since Oracle Database 10g is a bit old, we don’t offer it as standard download anymore. And the process on how you request the download is described in this comprehensive MOS Note: 1071023.1 – How to Request Software Media when it is Unavailable on the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud Site my friendly colleague from Spain pointed me to.
Logon to MyOracle Support and open a non-Technical SR:
Then choose as Problem Type: Software & OS Media Request followed by Electronic Download Software & OS Media Requests.
On the next page describe the software you need – and soon after you should get a link to download the Oracle Database base release software even for older releases.
That’s it.
And please don’t misunderstand this blog post. It is not a recommendation to download and install Oracle 10g ๐

Hi Mike,
Is 5.1b still available? ๐
I’m sure I’ve got it on diskette somewhere!
Regards,
Stuart
Haha ๐
Actually a long while ago we’ve had a colleague wanting to install Oracle V5 into a Vbox image. He had the full stack of diskettes. He organized a diskette drive. And two of the diskettes were unreadable. So he sent out an email to Oracle in Munich – and apparently a colleague from my old team in Support had them, too. Luckily those two disks were good, and so my mate could install V5 …
But I doubt that you will get access to anything older than 9.2 ๐
Mike
My personal favorite is still 7.3.4 – using that release I finally got a SGI Challenge 10000 XL cluster using Oracle Parallel Server (the fuctional predecessor to RAC) to be stable …
One would never have been cold in the winter but unfortunately that was in the UAE …
Haha … I guess many will agree with you, Christan ๐
But this was almost 25 years ago. If I remember correctly, 7.3.4 got released in early to mid 1997 ๐

I tend to save all the old Oracle binaries and it did come in handy one time – https://dbajonblog.wordpress.com/2018/08/08/keep-your-oracle-binaries/?preview_id=1430&preview_nonce=5970f5f124&preview=true&_thumbnail_id=1431
Hi Jon,
I do the same ๐
But I think you’ll get access to it via an SR, too ๐
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Jon. Wonder if you have and could share the files oracle db 11gr2 (11.2.0.4) win64 platform from your archive? Really appreciate it
Hi Mike. Excellent blog.
19.3.0.0.0 is the base release to download from OTN or SDC, Now in MOS we can download the latest RU. My question is, In MOS can we download a more recently base release like 19.13 or a like. I know we can dowload, patch and create a new image and store it somewhere else for the next install or upgrade.
Best Regards.
Hi William,
unfortunately not yet. It is always 19.3.0 plus the separate RU download on top.
There will be a change one day with Gold Images, but I don’t know when this will become available to customers via MOS.
Cheers
Mike
