Why Cool Features for DBAs?
Actually the idea is not new. And we’ve included some slides into our workshops already for quite a while. But there are simply too many cool features. Our focus is in features which usually don’t make it into advertising or marketing slides for various reasons. Some of these features are even available with Standard Edition 2, some others require Enterprise Edition.
One of the most common requests we receive internally is “How can I convince my customer to upgrade to 19c?”. And of course, we usually can answer with all these landmark features every new release of Oracle offers to you. But this is not our focus. And this may not the trigger to get you upgrading to 19c (in case anybody needs to be convinced to upgrade to 19c these days).
Hence, we will focus on these features which make your daily work life much easier. Those features you were asking for a while ago already. Those cool features which make Oracle simply the best database in the market.
But it wouldn’t be us if we’d do a marketing web seminar. We will demonstrate most of the features. And we will – of course -warn you about hidden pitfalls and explain some insights which aren’t obvious.

This time we have a surprise. It won’t be only Daniel and myself speaking for two hours. We convinced one of the architects of AutoUpgrade, Frederick Alvarez, to join us and explain his best features.
Yes, Connor McDonald, the man from Down Under who advances more slides in 45 minutes than anybody else on the planet.
And Jeff Smith (yes, ThatJeffSmith), the guy who can’t live without SQL Developer and German cars.
But jokes aside, we are absolutely excited to have Connor and Jeff introduce their coolest feature for DBAs together with us.
