Just a few hours left until I’ll start my LAOUC Web Seminar: Oracle Multitenant – 3 PDBs and many secrets today, Aug 17, 2020. I’m really looking forward to it even though it is a bit sad this time. Usually in the past years I was traveling to Latin America. And I enjoyed the intense discussions in Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil a lot. The local folks invest so much time in these yearly user group conferences. Hence, as for most other events as well, this year you’ll be able to participate virtually over multiple days.

Hi Mike,
thanks for theses WEBCAST.
Just one question:
I would like to convert an non cdb into an cdb.
I’ve got an 19.7 noncdb and an “empty” 19.7 cdb.
Can autoupgrade do the trick?
I have to set :
pg1.source_home=/u01/app/oracle/product/19
upg1.target_home=/u01/app/oracle/product/19
Then I define the non-cdb and the cdb.
Start the autoupgrade – that’s it!
Is this the right way?
Regards
Christian
Hi Christian,
source and target homes are the same, you need to specify your target_cdb and you can add the optional parameters for target_pdb_name and target_pdb_copy_option.
That’s it. And use the newest AU please.
Cheers,
Mike
