After the Exadata OL7 upgrade we found it a bit odd that the “default” ntp package had been removed.
The whole OL7 upgrade process was pretty smooth, but why not include ntp in the dbnodeupdate as well?
It’s of course a very minor thing to install ntp again, but it’s something the admins should do manually afterwards.
