In this session learn about the right tools to ease your migration and keep the downtime as low as possible. Discover how Oracle Recovery Manager incrementally rolled forward backups combined with transportable tablespaces enable a smooth migration of databases even larger than 100 TB across platforms and endianness. Get a detailed explanation of the approach using Oracle’s PERL scripts from configuration to execution, and gain insights into two real-world migrations in the US and EMEA with databases larger than 100 TB, one using traditional transportable tablespaces and the other using Oracle Data Pump’s fully transportable Export/Import feature.

In this hands-on lab learn to upgrade a database from release 11.2.0.4 to release 12.2.0.1. Then convert this database to a pluggable database (PDB) and plug it into a multitenant container database (CDB). Lastly attendees migrate a second 11.2.0.4 database directly into a 12.2.0.1 PDB using the new Oracle Database 12c Full Transportable Export/Import feature. This is a great way to get hands-on experience with different upgrade and migration methods, all under the tutelage of Oracle’s database upgrade team.
CU you there 🙂

Hi Mike,
Got a question, when we applied the quarterly PSU, if the binary got applied, but the datapatch part was missed, is there any problem to let it run? It has been over a month. Should we make up the datapatch part?
Thanks!
Erin
Erin,
you can do the datapatch afterwards. Just set your env, go to $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch and execute ./datapatch -verbose
Cheers
Mike
