Hi Mike
Lifetime Support doc on oracle.com has not changed to reflect 12.2 ; is that deliberate or has no-one got round to it yet ?
Ta
Chris.
It did get changed over the weekend – see my blog post tomorrow morning please 🙂

Mike
Hi Mike,
Do you have any information when this version is to be released also for Windows platform?
Thanks in advance,
Ilia
Please see MOS Note 742060.1 for proposed release dates (includes Win as well).
Cheers
Mike
Q2CY2017
Thanks a lot,
Ilia
Could you plz point to the docs which talks about the Net difference for the below?
1. Oracle DB 12.2 On-premise release Vs Oracle DBCS 12.2 which includes the Features differences between them and if there are any features that are enabled by Default
2. Oracle DBCS 12.1 Vs Oracle DBCS 12.2
This is the license documentation. There you’ll find now a separation between on-premises and the cloud.

Hallo Mike,
Viele Gruesse
Mike
Hello Mike,
I have some questions about gathering statistics before and after our upgrade. We are working and testing our upgrade from 11.2.0.4 to 12c.
There is one Oracle Support note (Doc ID 465787.1) with statistics recommendations. Would it be ok to save statistics the way this document suggests?
While doing the upgrade in place tests, the output recommends to create stats on fixed objects two weeks
after the upgrade. Would you recommend to wait two weeks, or can they be created right after the upgrade?
The MOS note also includes steps to create fresh baselines of data dictionary, fixed objects and system statistics.
Is this something you would suggests right after the upgrade?
Thank you,
Nidia Pichardo
Nidia,
ignore the two weeks and transform it into:
– once directly after upgrade if you plan to recompile a high number of invalid objects
– again a bit (maybe 24-48 hours) as by then the X$ structures should have been filled now.
For instance X$BH (Buffer Cache) may be more or less empty directly after the upgrade. But it will not once you kicked off production.
Furthermore, since 12.1.0.2 fixed objects stats gathering is part of the Automatic Stats Gathering job – so you may ignore the above hints anyways.
Cheers
Mike
